Solution
When concentrated Sulphuric acid () is added to Sodium chloride, the formation of Sodium Bisulphate and Hydrochloric acid will take place.
In this reaction, concentrated Sulphuric acid acts as a strong oxidizing agent and Chloride ion acts as a weak reducing agent. With the help of a strong acid, protonation of ions will take place to form Sodium Bisulphate.
