  1. The mRNA or messenger RNA is one of the three types of RNAs, which is used as a messenger molecule for translating the information of the gene into the information of a protein.
  2. The formation of a protein with the help of an mRNA is called translation.
  3. The sequence of nucleotides present over the mRNA used for the process of translation is known as a translation unit.
  4. The translation unit is flanked by a component called the start codon at the beginning and a component called the stop codon at the end. In between these two, the unit contains the information for making the protein.
