Adaptive radiation is a process of evolution in any geographical region where evolution starts from a single point and radiates to other areas of the region.
In such type of evolution, a plant or animal group evolves into different types of plants or animals that are adapted to specific modes of life.
Example: Cichlid fish, Darwin's finches of the Galapagos island, and Australian marsupial animals.
This type of evolution takes place in a relatively less time period.
