Centre of buoyancy:

  1. When a body is immersed in a liquid it is acted upon by an upward force called the buoyant force and this phenomenon is called buoyancy.
  2. The centre of gravity of a body is the point where the total gravitational force of the body can be considered to act.
  3. The centre of buoyancy is the centre of gravity of the volume of water displaces by the body when immersed in the water.
