What is convection science?

Solution

  1. Convection is the process of heat transfer by the bulk movement of molecules within fluids such as gases and liquids.
  2. The equation of convection can be written as
    Q=hAT
    where Q is the rate of heat transfer, h is the convection heat transfer coefficient, T is the change in temperature, A is the area.
  3. Convection is the movement of gas caused by the flow of heated materials.
  4. Warm air is pushed to cold locations by atmospheric circulation, resulting in wind.
  5. Cloud movements, ocean waves, and many types of heaters are all examples of convection.
  6. Convection currents are a type of flowing fluid that occurs when the temperature or density of a substance changes.
  7. Convection currents are only present in gases and liquids because particles are fixed inside a solid.
  8. When convection takes place due to buoyant force as there is a difference in densities caused by the difference in temperatures it is known as natural convection.
  9. When external sources such as fans and pumps are used for creating induced convection, it is known as forced convection.
