  1. Electrolysis is a process in which electrical energy is converted into chemical energy.
  2. Example- The breakdown of WaterH2O into Hydrogen and Oxygen with use of electric current .
  3. There are two electrodes are used in electrolytic cell Anode(positively charged) and Cathode(negatively charged).
  4. This process is commercially useful as it helps in extraction of Metals from their ores.
