  1. In the periodic table, the element in which the last electrons enters in n-2f orbitals are so-called f-block elements.
  2. The f-block elements are also called inner transition elements.
  3. They come in the third period of the periodic table with two series 4f and 5f.
  4. The 4 series elements are called Lanthanoids and the 5f series elements are called Actinoids.
  5. Lanthanoids are the first group of elements that start from 57 and end up at 71.
  6. They are generally non-radioactive in nature.
  7. Actinoids are the second group of elements that start from 89 and end up at 103.
  8. Most of them are radioactive in nature.
  9. There are a total of 1-14 electrons present in the f orbital.
