Light:

Light reflection:

Whenever light bounces off things, this is called reflection.

Light refraction:

Whenever light moves from one substrate to another with a differing refractive index, it is refracted or bent.

1. Refraction allows lenses or mirrors to concentrate a light beam on such a specific point.
2. It is also responsible for a variety of familiar occurrences, such as the apparent deformation of objects completely submerged.Therefore, both refraction and reflection, entail a change in the direction of such a wave. A refracted wave might be "bent," whereas a reflected wave might appear to "bounce back" off a surface or even another wavefront.
