  • When the gas is accumulated over water, it is moist and comprises water vapor.
  • The overall pressure of the gas exerted (pTotal) is equal to the total of the partial pressure of the dry gas (pdry) and aqueous tension.
  • It can be expressed as:

pTotal=pdry+Aqueoustension
