Rh factor:
Rh factor is an inherited protein present on the surface of the red blood cells.
If Rh factor or antigen is present in red blood cells it is known as positive (+) blood group.
If Rh factor or antigen is absent in red blood cells it is known as negative (-) blood group.
The antigen was first discovered in the rhesus monkey so it is called rhesus factor.
