Siphonostele is a protostele or medullated protostele with a nonvascular pith in the center that lacks leaf gaps.
Types of siphonostele:
Amphiphloic siphonostele: In this type of siphonostele, the xylem is encircled on both sides by phloem, pericycle, and endodermis. It is commonly found in Equisetum and Osmunda.
Ectophloic siphonostele: In this type of siphonostele in which the pericycle, xylem, phloem, and endodermis all surround the central pith.
