Open in App
Solution

  1. A solvent is defined as the substance which gives medium to the reaction and is present in the solution in a large amount.
  2. As the name suggests solventless substance is a solution that does not contain any solvent in it.
  3. As the process does not contain any solvent, therefore the process is also called a solid-state chemical reaction.
  4. The reactants of such a process are also not present in the liquid state.
  5. Here in this reaction the reactant is combined with clay, silica, and zeolite which reduces the formation of by-products.
  6. The reaction does not contain any catalyst or inhibitors.
  7. Example: Epoxy and paint contain a very less amount of solvent and thus, they are less diluted.
