  2. It belongs to the male reproductive structure.
  3. The pollen tube is not a nutrient-rich structure.
  4. The generative nucleus is the male nucleus of seed plants that undergo fertilization.
  5. Tube nucleus is the nucleus that guides the growth of the pollen tube through the pistil.

Functions of the pollen tube:

  1. The pollen tube helps to transport male gametes toward the female gametes.
  2. The tube grows along the entire length of the pistil.
  3. The germ cell travels down to the tube to the ovary.
  4. When the germ cell comes in contact with the eggs cell fertilization occurs.
  5. The embryo plant then begins to develop.
  6. As the embryo grows the ovary gets larger.
