Tissues:

  1. A group of cells that have similar structure and function together as one unit is known as tissue.
  2. Tissues provide shape to the body and help body to conserve heat and store energy.
  3. There are four types of tissues: Connective tissue, Epithelial tissue, Muscle tissue and Nervous tissue.

Functions of tissues:

  1. Epithelia tissues act as coverings and control the movement of materials across its surface.
  2. Connective tissue connects various parts of the body together and provides support and protection.
  3. Muscular tissue's primary purpose is to facilitate movement.
  4. They can contract, and it is this ability that causes the movement of body parts.
  5. They support maintaining proper posture and alignment of the body.
  6. Receiving inputs and transmitting messages to the brain and spinal cord are the primary roles of nervous tissue.
