It is the process of transport or movement of substances that are required for the survival of a cell across the cell membrane.
This transport mainly takes place by two processes, namely, Active transport that requires energy for the movement and Passive transport that does not require energy.
Passive transport proceeds again in three different processes namely diffusion, facilitated diffusion, and osmosis.
The purpose of cell transport is to maintain the proper contents of salts, proteins, ions, and nutrients in the cell.
Examples of cell transport are, diffusion of oxygen and carbon dioxide, and facilitated diffusion across the cell membrane
