Solution
Circulation in humans:
To sustain life, blood must carry oxygen.
The driving force for blood flow is the pumping of the heart.
Two types of circulations are present in humans: They are 1. Pulmonary circulation 2. Systemic circulation.
Pulmonary circulation helps to carry blood between the lungs and heart.
It transports deoxygenated blood to the lungs to release carbon dioxide and carry oxygen.
Later, the oxygenated blood is carried to the heart.
Systemic circulation carries blood to all tissues.
It carries oxygenated blood and nutrients to all the cells.
It also picks carbon dioxide and waste products from the blood.
Thus, blood flows through the heart twice and the circulation is known as double circulation.
