What will be the direction of gravitational force due to earth acting on a box kept on an inclined plane ? Explain.

Solution

Gravitational force always acts vertically downwards, that is, towards the center of the earth. Its direction do not vary with the position or orientation of the object on which it is acting. So, even though the block here is kept on an inclined plane, the force of gravity will act vertically downwards on it.
