Cochlea is a part of the inner ear. It is fluid filled chamber that is split 3 chambers by two membranes constituting cochlea, the reissner’s and basilar.
The outer two chambers, the scala vestibule and scala tymapni, are contacted by two windows on the middle ear—the oval and round windows—and form a continuous channel that allows sound vibrations to travel through the cochlear fluids. The middle chamber, or scala media, lies between the two outer chambers and holds the organ of Corti, where the hair cells are located.
