Process of formation of spermatid

Primary spermatocytes are formed from the spermatogonia by mitosis. The primary spermatocytes undergoes first meiotic division which reduces the number of chromosomes to haploid stage (23) and results in the formation of secondary spermatocytes. The secondary spermatocyte undergoes second meiotic division to form haploid circular cells called spermatids.
