Process of formation of spermatid
Primary spermatocytes are formed from the spermatogonia by mitosis. The primary spermatocytes undergoes first meiotic division which reduces the number of chromosomes to haploid stage ( $23$ ) and results in the formation of secondary spermatocytes. The secondary spermatocyte undergoes second meiotic division to form haploid circular cells called spermatids.
