Solution

Electromagnetic wave

  1. They are waves created as a result of vibrations of the electric and magnetic fields. i.e., they are oscillating electric and magnetic fields.
  2. Radio waves, microwaves, visible lights, and x-rays are all examples of electromagnetic waves.
  3. They do not require a medium for their propagation.
  4. Light is also an electromagnetic wave.

Since electromagnetic waves do not require a medium for their propagation and since light is an electromagnetic wave, light can travel in vacuum.
