Question

Why is titration used?

Open in App
Solution

Titration:

  • Titration is a method in which the concentration of an unknown solution is measured using a solution of an unknown sustance.

  • Usually, once the reaction is complete, the titrant (the information solution) is applied from a desktop to a known volume of the analyte (the unknown solution).
  • If the concentration of an acidic solution needs to be found by scientists they will use a method called titration to do so.
  • Using this method, scientists combine the unknown solution with a simple solution to neutralize it, then calculate the pH level in the neutral solution.
