Solution

Solution:

Step:1: Molarity of Hydrogen chloride (HCl)

  1. Volume of HCl=37%v/v or 36.5gof HCl per100gof solution
  2. Specific gravity=1.19g/ml
  3. 370ml/1000ml×1.19g/ml=440.3g/L
  4. HCl Molecular weight=36.5
  5. Molarity=massofsolutemolarmassofsolution
  6. Molarity=440.3g36.5g=12.06M12M

Step:2:Normality of HCl

  1. To find normality: N1V1=N2V2
  2. In the equation, N=Normality of solution and V=Volume of solution
  3. Applying the above Formula,12×V1=0.1×1
  4. V1=8.33ml

If we add 8.33ml in1000l the water we get 0.1NHCl
