Solution
Reaction of methyl iodide (excess) reacts with aniline
Aniline reacts with the excess of methyl iodide to form N,N,N- trimethylanilinium iodide via nucleophilic substitution reaction which in the presence of sodium carbonate solution forms N, N, N− trimethyl anilinium carbonate as a final product.
