Absolute Value of an Integer: The distance of an integer from '0' on the number line irrespective of its direction is called the absolute value of that integer. two vertical bars ' ' are used to denote the absolute value.

a=a, if 'a' is greater than or equal to 0.

a=-a, if 'a', is less than '0' ,where a is any integer.

Here, -13=--13 (-13<0)

=13

Therefore, the absolute value of -13 is 13.
