The Earth is divided into three Heat Zones. The Frigid Zone, The Temperate Zone and The Torrid Zone.

• The torrid zone lies between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. It is the hottest zone as this part of the Earth receives sun rays at a direct angle because of Earth’s tilt.
• The North and the South Temperate Zones are two different areas of the Earth receiving sun-rays at similar angles from the Sun. Hence, they have (almost) similar kind of weather and temperature conditions.
• The areas lying between the Arctic Circle and the North Pole and between the Antarctic Circle and the South Pole are the Frigid Zones.
