The Earth is divided into three Heat Zones. The Frigid Zone, The Temperate Zone and The Torrid Zone.
The torrid zone lies between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. It is the hottest zone as this part of the Earth receives sun rays at a direct angle because of Earth’s tilt.
The North and the South Temperate Zones are two different areas of the Earth receiving sun-rays at similar angles from the Sun. Hence, they have (almost) similar kind of weather and temperature conditions.
The areas lying between the Arctic Circle and the North Pole and between the Antarctic Circle and the South Pole are the Frigid Zones.
