The revised version of class 10 French book is available on the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
CBSE Class 10 textbook: A twitter post on CBSE textbook cover of class 10 had raised questions among citizens as the Indian map shown on the cover of the book did not show Jammu and Kashmir as a part of the country. The tweet was posted by the Legal Rights Observatory which has over 47,000 followers.
The tweet which went viral on Monday had CBSE, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union home minister Amit Shah, tagged in it. There was a call out for CBSE in the tweet, asking them whether it's true and if they don’t recognise Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of the country. It questioned the council whether they (pointing towards Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union home minister Amit Shah) had control over the book section. It also pointed out that the curriculum of CBSE is creating gender confusion among the kids.
As a result, CBSE had to write a backup tweet for clarification stating that the cover is an old edition of the 2014 book. And the revised version is available on the official website of CBSE. The tweet states "the cover page of the Class 10 French Textbook which inadvertently shows the wrong map is from an earlier phased out edition of 2014 of the textbook. The revised version is available at CBSE website."
The book had to be revised in 2014. It was published by the Academics and Training Wing, Central Board of Secondary Education.
