The decision is still in its initial stage of planning. The decision has been taken under construction after the recommendation of National Education Policy 2022.
SCERT designing integrated syllabus: The State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) is coming up with a new framework, which can also be referred to as a think-tank of experts. The experts will be from different fields of art, sports, crafts, and health, who will work together in an association with State Curriculum Framework (SCF) committees in order to develop an integrated curriculum.
The framework came into planning after the recommendation of the new National Education Policy (NEP). The aim is to make the process of teaching effective and playful at the same time. The subjects won’t be taught in a military framework. The subjects will be taught through various activities like performing arts.
In an interview, Dr Neha Belsare, deputy director of SCERT for Social Science, Art and Sports, stated that NEP aims at emphasising the importance of integrated learning. Teaching modules can be made effective if they are integrated with art and sports as it helps to increase the engagement of the students.
According to the information received, apart from teachers, people from the sectors of arts, science, and sports can join the framework making process of the SCERT think tank. A Google meet link has been shared by the SCERT to invite online applications. People from different states can attend the meeting and be a part of the state-level brainstorming session. The session will be created with the help of technology.
