Due process of law is a constitutional guarantee that prevents governments from impacting citizens in an abusive way. It is a course of legal proceedings according to rules and principles that have been established in a system of jurisprudence for the enforcement and protection of private rights. It is the legal requirement that the state must respect all of the legal rights that are owed to a person and laws that states enact must conform to the laws of the land like – fairness, fundamental rights, liberty etc. If SC finds that any law is not fair, it will declare it null and void.
