Rice-wheat cropping is a kind of double-cropping system that is most widely adopted in the country and has become the mainstay of cereal production. In this system, rice and wheat are grown in the same field during a single year. This system is mainly followed in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.
