Common property resources include all such resources that are meant for the common use of the villagers. CPRs include all resources like village pastures and grazing grounds, village forests and woodlots, protected and unclassed government forests, waste land, common threshing grounds, watershed drainage, ponds and tanks, rivers, rivulets, water reservoirs, canals and irrigation channels. These resources were largely under the control of local communities.
