Rice, maize, jowar, bajra, tur (arhar), moong, urad, cotton, jute, groundnut and soyabean are the main crops grown in the Kharif season. Assam, West Bengal, coastal regions of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra are the most important rice-growing regions. Recently, rice has become an important crop of Punjab and Haryana.
