Australia is the smallest continent in the world in terms of landmass.
With a total land area of 8.56 million square kilometers, it is also the lowest, flattest, and second-driest continent in the world.
It includes almost 6% of the total land area in the world and is one-fifth of the size of the largest continent, Asia.
It has been called “the Oldest Continent”, “the Last Frontier”, and “the Last of Lands”.
It lies in the Southern Hemisphere, between the Pacific and the Indian Ocean.
Australia is the sixth largest country in the world and the largest country without any borders since it is surrounded by water on all sides.
