Along with the Lions chital, nilgai, sambar, four-horned antelope, chinkara and wild boar live in Gir Park
Gir National Park is the only known sanctuary of the Asiatic Lions. It was initially the Nawab of Junagarh hunting ground, which he fenced off in order to save the declining population of lions.
