The following are the three facts about the Renaissance:
- The Renaissance is considered to have begun in Florence in the 14th century before spreading to the rest of Italy. At the time Italy consisted of city-states that were very wealthy and it was an ideal ground spreading Renaissance culture
- The fall of Constantinople in 1453 led to the migration of Greek Scholars which fueled the Renaissance. Also around 1450, Johannes Gutenberg of Germany invented a mechanical movable printing type machine. The Printing Revolution played a key role in the development of the Renaissance allowing it to spread from Italy to the rest of Europe.
- Although the Renaissance period saw developments in many fields, it is most famous for its artistic achievements which exercised a dominant influence on subsequent European art.
