What activities are prohibited in eco sensitive zones?

The following roads are prohibited in eco-sensitive zones:

• Commercial coal mining

• Saw mills

• Polluting industries

• Commercial forestry

• Tourism activities that might discharge damaging affluents into the soil or air like hot air balloons

Eco-sensitive zones are set up as environmental shock absorbers in national parks, wildlife sanctuaries etc, to regulate human activities in the area.
