What is a fast track court?

Fast Track Courts (FTCs) are set up by the State Governments in consultation with the concerned High Courts. The 11th Finance Commission had recommended a scheme for the creation of 1734 FTCs in the country for the disposal of long pending cases.

Fast Track Special Courts are dedicated courts that are expected to ensure swift dispensation of justice.
