Why are equatorial forests known as evergreen forests?

The equatorial forests are known as evergreen forests because they dont shed their leaves at once in a particular season and look green throughout the year.

The equatorial forest region is found on both sides of the equator and falls in the torrid zone. Equatorial forests are most notable for their high diversity of flora and fauna in unusually close proximity.
