The French Revolution completely changed the social and political structure of France. The revolution saw to it that feudalism was ended, along with all the powers of an absolute monarchy. Even the powers of the Church were negated. In other words a centuries-old system was uprooted by the ordinary people of France.
The effects of the French Revolution had quite an impact. For one, the other European monarchies, particularly Great Britain and Austria, feared the ideals of the French revolution spreading to their domains and declared war on the new French republic as a result.
A chain of events starting from this would lead to the rise of Napoleon. The ideals of the French Revolution also spread throughout the colonies of France that would lead to a rise in anti-colonial sentiments in the region.
