What is the difference between emigrant and immigrant?

A person who moves from one place to another in order to find work or better living conditions is called a migrant. Migrants are mainly of two types.

  • Immigrants: Migrants who move into a new place are called Immigrants. 
  • Emigrants: Migrants who move out of a place are called Emigrants.
