What is the purpose of wetland conservation?

The purpose of wetland conservation is to preserve wetlands due to the valuable ecological services it provides. Wetlands cover at least 6% of the earth’s surface.

Wetland conservation is aimed at protecting and preserving areas where water exists at or near the Earth’s surface, such as swamps, marshes and bogs.
