Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya
- He was a politician, thinker, and philosopher, who embraced Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) ideologies.
- He drafted a set of concepts called ‘Integral Humanism’ and adopted it as an official doctrine for BJP.
- He is also one of the forebears of the Bharatiya Janata Party and co-founders of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
- He endeavored to spread the Hindutva ideology through a monthly publication called Rashtra Dharma, meaning ‘National Unity’ and was affiliated with Gandhian principles like Swadeshi,Sarvodaya,and Gram Swaraj.
- Mughal Sarai Junction in UP was renamed Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction by the BJP government in 2019.
- He believed that humankind has 4 hierarchical factors: mind, body, intellect and soul. These denote four universal objectives, Artha (wealth), Kama (desire), Dharma (moral duties) and Moksha (total liberation of self).
