Drawing Made Simple – How to Draw a Light Bulb for Kids?

There are different types of light bulbs available in the market. Incandescent, compact fluorescent (CFL), halogen, and light-emitting diode (LED) are the four popular types of light bulbs that are presently available for use. Among these varieties, LED bulbs are widely used because of their energy efficiency, low heating capacity, and emission of bright light. Based on their interest in drawing, kids can choose any of these models and depict them. But here, we have mentioned the step-by-step instructions for drawing a traditional incandescent light bulb. The following steps are easy to follow for kids of any age. 

• Let us start by drawing a small rectangular figure in the middle of the paper to form the bulb holder connector. Arrange the base part of the rectangle in such a way that it has a slightly bulging bottom. 
• Sketch simple curves to form the carvings on the bottom part of the bulb. Assure that these lines are equally arranged inside the rectangular figure. 
• To form an electrical foot contact, draw a small semi-circular figure below the bulged bottom. 
• Draw the glass part of the light bulb. Outline the bulb using a simple line starting from the left top part of the rectangular figure sketched in the initial steps to the right part. Arrange the shape in such a way that it resembles the shape of a balloon. 
• Add filament inside the bulb. Draw two small slanted vertical lines in the middle part of the bulb and connect them using a zig-zag line.
• After completing the rough outline, ask them to redraw the outline of the bulb using an indelible black marker to enhance its quality.
• Colour the glass part of the bulb with yellow colour and the base connector part a silver colour.
