How many died in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre?

As per British government estimates about 379 people died and about 1200 were wounded. Although other records do indicate that more than a thousand people died.

The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre was a turning point in the Indian Independence movement which led to a loss of faith in British colonial rule. From that point on only complete independence would be acceptable to Indian freedom fighters.
