The magnitude of the electrostatic force of attraction between two charges q and  Q   placed at a distance r is given by the formula

$F=\frac{1}{4\pi \epsilon _{0}}\frac{qQ}{r^{2}}=k_{0}\frac{qQ}{r^{2}}$

Where,

F = magnitude of electrostatic force

ε0=Vacuum permittivity = 8.854 × 1012 C2N-1m-2

k= Coulombs constant =1/4πε0
