NCC, Scouts Training for Madrassa Students Announced Yogi Adityanath Government

In a way to improve madrassas in the state, the UP Government has decided to give NCC and Scouts training to the students to bring them on a par with students of other educational institutions. This initiative is taken after the government decided to introduce NCERT syllabus in the madrassas and hold exams similar to the UP board’s examination.

Baldev Singh Aulakh, Minority Welfare Minister said that the government wants to bring madrasas to the mainstream so that Muslim students can also face the competitive exams. He also added that the introduction of NCC and training at the madrassas will make the kids physically strong and take up new assignments.

The Minister further added that the government’s aim is to modernize madrassas in every sense. It will help students to learn more and get the opportunity to explore themselves along with physical fitness. Students will also learn about the nation and patriotism and can compete with other school students and join the Air Force and military. Like any other student, they should also get a chance.

The Yogi Adityanath government decision to modernize the madrasas was welcomed by Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli, a member of AIMPLB. He said that this will help the Muslim students to learn about the nation and contibute to nation-building and make them physically strong.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, earlier in January, said that the closure of madrasas is not a solution. We should focus more on improving it by giving them quality education besides imparting traditional education. In Uttar Pradesh, there are more than 16000 madrasas operating and there were reports that the government was considering to introduce a new dress code for madrasa students, earlier this month.

The government, last year, had decided to introduce NCERT Books in madrasas, besides making mathematics and science compulsory at an intermediate level in all the Islamic schools.

We at BYJU’S provide study materials of UP Board to help students while preparing for their exam. The study materials include UP Board Syllabus, previous year question paper, important questions, textbooks and exam pattern.
