Drawing Made Easy – How to Draw a Chicken for Kids? 

Drawing is an activity which demands nothing but freedom. There are numerous ways in which an artist can picture a chicken. As we all know, drawings are the pictorial representation of the mental images of a person, and they differ from one to another. When asked to draw a chicken, children can opt for any method to represent their visualisation. The instructions given below will help kids to portray a simple chicken figure in nine simple steps. 

Step 1: Start by sketching the outline of the chicken’s body. Draw a large oval shape in the middle of the paper to form the chicken’s torso part. 

Step 2: Add neck and head. From the left top part of the oval shape drawn in step 1, draw two lines to form their neck and above the lines, draw a circular figure to form the head of the chicken. 

Step 3: Use a wavy line to sketch a chicken comb on its head. Just below the comb, draw a small circle to form the chicken wattle. 

Step 4: Add details. On the left side of the head, between the comb and the wattle, draw a small triangular figure to form the beak of the chicken. Then sketch a small circle to form its eye. 

Step 5: Draw a wing. Sketch a figure with the left part rounded and the right part in the shape of pointed feathers using a wavy line. Arrange the figure in such a way that it appears like a wing on its body. 

Step 6: Similarly, add a tail to the chicken. Draw two small parallel lines in the torso part and connect them using a wavy line. 

Step 7: As the final step of the rough outline, add legs to the chicken. As we are sketching a simple picture of a chicken, simple straight lines are enough to depict the chicken’s leg. 

Step 8: Clear all the scribbling errors using an eraser and make the picture appear clean and precise. After that, use a black marker and sketch over the borders to make them appear attractive. 

Step 9: Finish the task by filling the picture with the right set of colours. Choose colours wisely to make the drawing of the chicken appear more realistic.
