Globin
Globins are globular proteins that have a heme-group to bind and transport oxygen. It is a superfamily of proteins that have a three-dimensional fold. They are found in most organisms. Examples – Hemoglobin, myoglobin, cytoglobin, neuroglobin, Globin E, androglobin, etc. All these are water soluble proteins.
Globulin
Globulins are also globular proteins. They are insoluble in pure water. They form a major component of blood protein along with fibrinogen and albumins. The normal globulin concentration is 2.6-4.6 g/dL in human blood. Alpha globulins, beta globins, gamma globulins and immunoglobulins are some types of globin molecules.
They help in transporting metals and metabolites. The immunoglobulins or antibodies are a type of gamma globulins that are immunologically active.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are globular proteins?
What are pseudoglobulins?
They are a category of globulins that are soluble in pure water. They are even more soluble in an ammonium sulphate solution. Also, there is another category of globulins called euglobulins that are insoluble in pure water.
What is gluten?
Gluten is a type of protein seen in cereals like wheat, rye, oats and barley. It is composed of gliadins and glutenins. This naturally occurring protein can trigger inflammatory responses in some people.
