The Centre for Research and Exams in Science and Technology hosts the online worldwide competition exam called the CREST Olympiad. Students in grades 1 to 10 are eligible to take the examination, which is divided into different levels. It consists of objective-type questions that must be finished in 60 minutes.

CREST Olympiad Exams

CREST Mathematics Olympiad (CMO)

The CREST Mathematics Olympiad (CMO) is an international competitive exam held online for students in Classes Prep/KG and 1-10. There will be only one level for students in Classes Prep/KG and 1-2 and 2 levels for students of Classes 3-10. The exam is an objective-type, and students need to complete it in 60 minutes. For students in Classes Prep/KG and 1, the exam will be parent/teacher assisted. The time of the exam will be 45 minutes for Prep/KG students.

CREST English Olympiad (CEO)

The CEO is one of the most effective venues for students to study and improve their English abilities. Based on their performance at the national level, the Olympiad assists students in analysing their strengths and limitations. The CREST Olympiad is one of the most well-known online olympiad organisations.

CREST Science Olympiad (CSO)

The CREST Science Olympiad (CSO) is a worldwide online competition for students in Classes pre-kindergarten to 10. There will be only one level for students in Prep/KG and Classes 1 to 2. For students in grades 3 to 10, there will be two levels. The exam is an objective-type test that students must complete in 60 minutes. Parents or teachers for pupils will aid the test in Prep/KG and Class 1.

CREST Reasoning Olympiad (CRO)

The CREST Reasoning Olympiad (CRO) is an online competition for children in grades 1 to 10. For all classes, there will be just one level. The exam is a 60-minute objective-type test that students must complete. CRO is one of the best platforms for children to learn and develop reasoning and thinking skills.

CREST Cyber Olympiad (CCO)

CCO is one of the most effective platforms for students to acquire and enhance their computer skills and knowledge. The Olympiad assists students in analysing their strengths and shortcomings, depending on their national performance. The CREST Cyber Olympiad (CCO) is a worldwide online competition for students in grades 1 to 10.

CREST International Spell Bee Olympiad (CSB)

The CREST International Spell Bee 2022-23 is India’s first online spelling evaluation for students in grades 1 to 8. It evaluates pupils based on their understanding of the English language, meaning, spelling and pronunciation. It will assist students in expanding their vocabulary, which is the foundation of English.

CREST International Spell Bee – Winter (CSBW)

In the CREST International Spell Bee-Winter, contestants are required to spell various words with varying degrees of difficulty. It requires contestants to master the spellings of words as in dictionaries. The idea originated in the United States and has now spread to several other countries. Spell Bee events are only held in English-speaking countries.

CREST Olympiad 2022 Registration

Students in grades Prep/KG and 1 to 10 can participate in the level 1 CREST Olympiad. Only English, Maths, and Science subject students in grades 3 to 10 are eligible for level 2. Students may sign up individually or through their schools to take the CREST level 1 tests.

  • Schools that sign up for these exams can use their computer lab to administer CREST tests.
  • For students studying and registering in India, the registration fee for each subject is Rs. 225. The cost is $10 for those who are studying and living outside India.

How to Register as an Individual Participant for the CREST Olympiad

Students can apply directly via the official website for individual registration. Here are the steps for registering as an individual applicant for the CREST Olympiad.

  1. Choose a single applicant if more than one student wants to submit an individual application for the CREST Olympiad.
  2. Enter the required information, including the student’s name, school name, class, email address, nation, and mobile number.
  3. When it’s finished, preview it before clicking ‘submit’.

CREST Olympiad Syllabus

The 60-minute CREST Olympiad exams are objective-type tests that students must pass. Prep/KG students will have a parent or teacher present to help them during the 45-minute exam. The exam’s language is English, and each class has distinct question papers. The set of test papers is based on the curriculum from state boards such as ICSE/ISC, CBSE, and others.

The CREST Olympiad questions place more of an emphasis on the student’s practical knowledge than their theoretical understanding. Students of the Indian standard education board are qualified to take this exam.

CMO Syllabus

The Maths Olympiad tests a student’s practical application of mathematics. Numbers, number names, addition, subtraction, lengths, weights, time, money, real numbers, polynomials, quadratic equations, polynomials, and coordinate geometry are among the subjects covered in the CMO syllabus.

CEO Syllabus

The English Olympiad tests a student’s reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammatical expertise. Analogies, spelling, recognising pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, articles, prepositions, basic tenses, conjunctions, and punctuation are also covered in the CEO syllabus.

CSO Syllabus

The purpose of the Science Olympiad Exam is to evaluate the student’s understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics. Environmental science, animals, birds, and insects, chemical reactions and equations, acids, bases, and salts, metals and non-metals, carbon and its compounds, periodic classification of elements, life processes, reproduction in organisms, and heredity & evolution are the subjects covered in the CSO syllabus.

CRO Syllabus

The Reasoning Olympiad was developed to help students understand their reasoning and how it affects brand-new knowledge and experiences. Coding and decoding, geometrical shapes, embedded figures, the odd one out, pattern, measuring units, series completion, blood relations, sequential output tracing, direction sense test, and logical Venn diagrams are the subjects included in the CRO syllabus.

CCO Syllabus

The Cyber Olympiad measures students’ proficiency with computer hardware, software, and systems. Computer fundamentals, contemporary IT advances, storage devices, hardware & software, input & output devices, memory & storage devices, operating systems, and data management systems are the topics covered in the CCO syllabus.

CSB Syllabus

Students are evaluated based on the English language and topics including meaning, spelling, and pronunciation in the CREST International Spell Bee Olympiad test. Animals, relationships, adjectives, sports, jobs, and themes from Wren and Martin’s Book and High School English Grammar and Composition are covered in the CSB syllabus. These topics are covered through word connections, picture talk, word chains, and rapid-fire exercises.

CREST Olympic Ranking Criteria

The final ranks will be announced based on the normalisation of the ranks for each session. The CREST Olympiads will be held on various days and sessions.

There will be a single exam for the CCO and CRO (all classes), and CEO, CSO, and CMO (Classes 1 and 2, level 1). In the event of a tie in the scores for the CREST level 1 and level 2 exams, the following ranking criteria will be used:

  • Priority 1: Section scores for achievers
  • Priority 2: Students who finish the test faster will be given a better ranking
  • Priority 3: The student who was born later will be given a better ranking

CREST Olympiad Cut Off Marks for 2022

Only the CEO, CMO, CSB, and CSO exams will be conducted in the level 2 CREST Olympiad exams. Students may sit for the CREST Olympiad level 2 exams if they meet any of the following requirements.

  • The top 5% of students in a particular class participated in the level 1 CREST Olympiad.
  • Top 25 students in a given class, city (top 50 cities in India), or zone (remaining towns and cities, including international locations, are divided into five zones – East, West, North and South, and International).

CREST Olympiad Awards and Recognition

The CREST Olympiad honours and recognition are as follows for students taking the English, Science, and Mathematics Olympiad exams, as well as the Cyber and Reasoning Olympiad:

  • A merit certificate will be given to the top 15% of students in this group.
  • The top 5% of students will get a medal and a merit certificate.
  • A merit certificate will be given to the top 3 students from each school, with more than 25 students in a class who have registered through the school and are taking the CREST Olympiad exam.
  • The achiever’s trophy and merit certificate will be given to the top 3 students from Classes 1 to 10.
  • Each participant is awarded with a digital certificate.
  • When a student fulfils two or more requirements, they will be qualified for a higher award.
