IEO Syllabus for Class 1 (2022-23) - International English Olympiad

The International English Olympiad (IEO) is held every year by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) to assess school children’s English language abilities. It aims to help students enhance their English language skills by offering a variety of questions. All of SOF’s question papers are divided into categories in terms of difficulty. The IEO syllabus is identical from school to grade; however, the level of difficulty of the questions changes.

The IEO syllabus is required reading for any student interested in competing in the International English Olympiad. The SOF IEO curriculum includes all the topics that will be covered in the test. In this article, we will discuss the IEO Class 1 syllabus and the important topics.

Words: Their Meanings and Opposites	This topic focuses on teaching children new words (vocabulary), reading, spelling, speaking, and listening skills, as well as accurate word pronunciation. Animals: Their Babies Sounds and Groups	This topic depicts many species, their names, and the descendants of those creatures. It also collects the sounds that a certain animal produces.
Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Conjunctions	In this example, you will learn about the core concept of things as well as the two major types of things, normal and suitable. You can remove the recurrence of Nouns in a single statement or paragraph by using Pronouns. Using this principle, students will be able to find the appropriate verb for a given term.
Articles, Prepositions, Adjectives	The concepts of definite and indefinite articles, as well as types, are introduced in this course. These terms determine whether a noun is singular or plural. Basic Tenses	The three basic tenses: present, past, and future, will be taught and understood.
Punctuation	These marks add to the meaning and division of a sentence. Models include a period, a comma, an interjection point, a question mark, and so forth.
Spoken and Written Expression.	They will teach you how to master verbal and written expression in the form of texts, messages, invites, and other forms of communication.
