Solved Examples On Meters

Problem 1: Radisson brought a rope measuring 24 meters 25 centimeters and Nancy brought 17 meters 15 centimeters rope. Find the total length of both the ropes taken together.

Answer:

The measure of the rope brought by Radisson = 24 meters 25 centimeters.

The measure of the rope brought by Nancy = 17 meters 15 centimeters.

The total length of both the ropes taken together = 24 meters 25 centimeters + 17 meters 15 centimeters

= 41 meters 40 centimeters

Problem 2: Subtract 20 meters 15 centimeters from 36 meters 95 centimeters.

Answer:

To subtract 20 meters 15 centimeters from 36 meters 95 centimeters, perform the subtraction for cm and m separately as follows.

95 cm – 15 cm = 80 cm

Then, subtract 20 m from 36 m:
36 m – 20 m = 16 m

The answer is 16 m 80 cm.

Problem 3: Convert 3 kilometers to meters.

Answer:

\(\begin{array}{l}3 \mathrm{~km}=3 \mathrm{~km} \times \frac{1000 \mathrm{~m}}{1 \mathrm{~km}}=3000 \mathrm{~m}\end{array} \)
